AWARDS

It is universally accepted in Jaycees that special meritorious service deserves recognition. Through out the year individuals may shine, one may conduct net worthy projects, may takes maximum participation in JC programs, may contributes to be outstanding, Jaycees recognizes achievements. Winning an award brings prestige to individual. Taking part in competition encourages sound record keeping practices and good organization. Your real award will be the valuable experience you win submitting an entry. Try it, the prestige and the motivation brought to your organization is a big dividend compared to the effect.

1. Awards should be for a program or activity within the purpose of Jaycees.
2. The award should not duplicate or overlap another award.
3. The area of activity for which an award is presented should be well defined.
4. the trophy should be of acceptable design and size.

AWARD ENTRY FORM

  1. Nomination of any award must be submitted on the official entry of "Junior Jaycees Award entry Form".
  2. Entry form are available from the Junior Jaycees.
  3. Each entry must be completed either in English or Nepali.
  4. Each entry form should be completed in detail giving whatever important information is required so that the judges will be able to fully comprehend the project/programs/activities prior to examine the scrap book.
  5. No objection towards the judges will be entertained.
  6. The project/programs/activities must have been completed within the current year of the Annual general meeting.
  7. Same project cannot submitted by any individual for more than one award.
  8. the award judging panel is not obliged to grant an award if it feels that no entries of sufficient merit have been submitted.
  9. The award judging panel may grant certificates of merit for deserving special recognition, but which do not qualify for an award.

SUBMISSION

  1. Submission for each award must be in the form of Scrap Book, Note Book or album.
  2. Each scrap book must be accompanied by one copy of the "Award Entry Form".
  3. The outside dimension of each Scrap Book binder must not exceed 10 inches in width by 12 inches in height.
  4. Each page in Scrap Book must be numbered. the maximum number of pages in each scrap book must not exceed 50 pages.
  5. Each scrap book should have a level outside that gives the following information:-
    a. Name of submitter.
    b. Name of award.
    c. Year of submission.
  6. Scrap book must be hand carried to the award judging chairman.
  7. The deadline for the receipt of the entry form and scrap book will be strictly adhered to.

A new award may be proposed by individual members, LOM's NOM or other persons interested in donating a new award to the junior Jaycees but the submission must be presented for consideration to Annual General Meeting by the one who is directly concerned with it.

The new award proposal must explain the awards purpose and other relevant details. the award proposal also must contain the following information.

  1. Name of award
  2. Name of donor.
  3. To whom the award is presented to.
  4. In recognition of what achievement.
  5. Description of trophy.
  6. Criteria for judging.

All new proposals must reach to the Jaycees one week before the Opening of the Annual General Meeting.

RULES

  1. General planning and execution will include the outline general planning of the project, the objective of the project, the objective for which the project was organized, how the committees were formed and the various steps which were taken for competition.
  2. Participation will embrace relevant figures such as percentage of LOM active members in relation to total membership, the numbers of man-hours spent on the projects, the numbers of non Jaycees participation and the degree of originality of the project.
  3. Community benefit - Under this heading judges will examine how the project helped the community.
  4. Benefit to the organization- Here the it should be explained how the project helped the Jaycees organization nationally of locally. It should show how it gave leadership training on different opportunities for members.
  5. Other terms of reference financing and promotion of international understanding. Both are explanatory.

TYPES OF AWARDS

MOST OUTSTANDING JUNIOR JAYCEES AWARD
Presented by : Jc Rajendra Ram Shrestha, Past Secretary General (Nepal Jaycees)
In recognition of : Most outstanding Junior Jaycee of the year.
Judging: The contestant will be judged by the Award Judging committee according to his involvement and contribution to LOM. For this award scrap book is not necessary.

BEST PROJECT CHAIRMAN AWARD
Presented by: Jc Sudhir Man Joshi, Founder President (Patan Junior Jaycees)
In recognition of : Outstanding Project Chairman
Judging : judging will be done according to the benefits made by his project to own LOM and to the community, quality of project, participation etc.

BEST TRAINEE AWARD
Presented by : Jc Bijaya Govinda Shrestha, Past General Legal Council (Patan Junior Jaycees)
In recognition of : Member participating the maximum number of training in a year
Judging: The contestant will be judged according to his involvement and participation in trainings in a year with his scrapbook.

BEST JUNIOR JAYCEE AWARD
Presented by : Jc Gopal Tamrakar, Past Executive Vice President (Patan Junior Jaycees)
In recognition of : Best Junior Jaycee of the year
Judging : Award will be judged according to his overall performance, dedication and contribution made, trainings attended, contribution to the mother LOMs, personal development since joined Junior Jaycees by him, support towards the LOM etc.

BEST ORATOR AWARD
Presented by : Jc Shiva Govinda Baidya, Past Preseident 1995 (Patan Junior Jaycees)
In recognition of : Best Orator
Judging : This award will be given to the best orator selected in the Inter Junior Jaycees Oratory Contest conducted at the Annual General Meeting of Patan Junior Jaycees.

BEST LOM OFFICER AWARD
Presented by : Jc Binod Narshing Shrestha, Past President 1999 (Patan Jaycees)
Jc Hari Krishna Barahi (Patan Jaycees)
In recognition to : Best LOM officer of the year
Judging: The judging of this award will be done by the LOM officers (Board of Directors) who have outstanding job done towards his LOM by contributing in various ways and his dedications, performance, training participation , program attendance etc.
